My First Painting
I was born in New Brunswick, Canada; grew up in the Ottawa area and currently reside near the Rideau River. I was brought up to recognize and appreciate the diversity and beauty of nature and I'm thrilled to be able to express my love of it through painting. The passion for this has only recently resurfaced as I explored different types of media in the past few years. Although I have been mostly self-taught and rely on what I learnt in high school art class, I attended the Ottawa School of Art in 2005. This has helped me refine my technique, renew my ideas and strengthen my motivation.
The materials I use are acrylic on canvas, watercolour or acrylic paper. I use many different techniques to apply this media and enjoy experimenting and challenging myself. However every one of my paintings require attention to detail and colour to capture the mood.
This is a true passion for me and I know I will continue painting throughout my life. I also enjoyed sharing my skills by painting for others who wanted to capture their special place in a portrait. I hope that in some way you find a connection with my work by recognizing the place or the feeling. Thank you for your audience, it is greatly appreciated.
